We promote education reform, teacher training, leadership development, and Christian education reform that all aim to replace Haiti’s traditional authoritarian with more dynamic and participatory approaches. We promote an alternative approach to short long-term service that puts visitors and volunteers in the position of relative weakness, who serve by living with and learning from rather than doing for people in local communities. We produce native language schoolbooks and curriculum. We support a growing social movement to end the exploitation of children living in domestic servitude.

top	Caribbean Children's Foundation's goal is to touch the lives of poor and orphaned children in the Caribbean. We are currently seeking sponsorships for children residing at the ""Children of Israel"" Orphanage of LesCayes, Haiti. As of September 2005, this orphanage is home to 15 girls and 9 boys, ages 3 to 12. The children receive regular meals, limited medical care and a faith-based education. About once a year, a sea container is sent to Haiti to supply clothing, shoes, health & beauty aides, medical supplies, construction materials, food and educational materials.

top	The Diocese of Richmond has a twinning relationship with the Diocese of Hinche. Fifty five to sixty of our parishes are twinned with parishes and organizations in Haiti, mostly in Hinche but also in other parts of Haiti particularly LaGonave. The relationships are based on mutuality and both partners benefit. Parishes work together on such things as education, health care, water issues, economic development. The Diocese of Richmond has a Clinic Board which works on health care, an Education Board which works on education and an Orphanage Board which supports an Orphanage in Hinche. Additionally, we are entering a global solidarity partnership with the Diocese of Hinche with the facilitation and technical assistance of Catholic Relief Services. This partnership will focus on sustainable development. The Diocese sponsors trips to Haiti for those interested in learning more about Haiti and also for parishes who twin with a group in Haiti.
