Haiti has long charged as the bane of the Western Hemisphere. Stereotypic North America and most of the 'World' Western as exotic and backward nation - full of heathens, despicable by poverty and ridden with disease, its unique position as the first operation in the nation by former slaves has greatly influenced both his past and present. American racism has helped to identify the social response to AIDS epidemic in Haiti. America has historically neglected relations with Haiti out of several types of fear. Theme for interacting with a performance of the nation by former slaves land riots cheer replaced by fear of the disease. The pagan notion has been perpetuated by the Americans is a thick interpretation of Haitians as pagan cannibal, and inhumane. The belief in this stereotype helps foster American notion that AIDS started in Haiti and was then transmitted to the U.S. The implications of this narrative posited by the 'World' Western are all negative for Haiti. There was a rapid cease to tourism - industry and the main source of economic growth and a rise in overt discrimination of Haitians in the U.S. When the North American countries and Western Europe interacted with Haiti, was always for personal gain at the expense of most Haitians and took advantage of the dire poverty of the Haitian people. This notion of 'being used' is reflected in the narrative of the Haitian unlike the spread of AIDS. It is his belief that E.E.U.U. have a conspiracy against Haiti and AIDS is a way for them to get rid of Haitians no longer necessary for the antibody-rich blood (as it may be contaminated with AIDS), or work as laborers in the U.S. It is easy to diagnose a problem such as assistance with another problem - poor education - with another problem, for example, poverty. However, this approach neglects surface discrimination and subjugation of historical and current group of people being studied. Haiti 's unique relationship with the United States in particular has significantly affected the view of Haiti and its people regarding AIDS and its distribution. Quite remarkably, the social response to AIDS in Haiti has been remarkably different from that of AIDS in the United States. The U.S., with its risk factors clearly resolved - especially affecting marginal groups, conducts the popular notion of blaming the victim. In Haiti, not ostracized and not directly blame the victims for their condition. Instead, the condition is often attributed to witchcraft or other agency. This witchcraft is a social mechanism that occurs in the situation of poverty. It helps ensure that no one village who practice it, monopolize wealth. AIDS as many other diseases is primarily a disease of the poor and under educated. There are many explanations as to why this situation exists, a farmer discusses those most relevant to Haiti. Contrary to the assertion of E.E.U.U. that AIDS started in Haiti, then spread to the U.S., has shown that there was epidemiological reported cases of AIDS or AIDS-like symptoms in Haiti before 19xx. There was however reported cases in the U.S. and other Western European countries whose tourists are also frequented Haiti. This means that AIDS did not start in Haiti and was introduced by one of these other countries that now blaming Haiti for the AIDS epidemic. The explanation proposed for the introduction of AIDS in Haiti is sex tourism. Haiti was even put in some guidelines for the place for sex tourism as a tourist did not have to spend a lot on sexual favors due to the situation of poverty. Due to cultural stigma and shame associated with homosexuality, males could not to 'out' themselves and maintained relationships with women and men. This led to an increase in cases without obvious cause and then the addition of 'being Haitian' the CDC 's list of risk factors for AIDS. The lack of recognized risk factors in Haiti can be attributed to socio-cultural shame experienced by gay men. Because I felt that the other would accept them as gay, many men were in touch with women and those infected with the disease. This masked the true risk factors in Haiti. This raises questions about research methods and ways to gather information. Clearly, a comprehensive ethnographic interview is more suited to finding the real sources of problems a simple questionnaire administered by someone who does not trust the participant probably because they have established a relationship. Clearly, this interpretation of E.E.U.U. Haitians and the disease has affected Haitians everywhere that made it almost impossible for families unable to retain or acquire jobs and housing. Even after 'being Haitian' was removed from the list of risk factors that have branded this group of people in the U.S. Also, the country as a whole still undoubtedly experienced the turmoil associated with the belief that AIDS is responsible for the Western Hemisphere.
